Been thinking about a transport from this morning. My supervisor get a call for a CCT request. Meet a plane at Tri-State Airport and transport a pt to a local hospital. When he asked what was CCT about the call, he was advised nothing. It was a request by a program director to transport an employee's family member to the hospital. Whatever. We goto TSA to wait on the plane. The field crew tell us that the patient is on a commercial flight and will land soon. Yes, in case you think that was a typo, I said COMMERCIAL FLIGHT!! So, the plane lands and all the passengers disembark. The flight attendant signals us to board and collect our patient. Before we get to the ramp, our patient comes WALKING down to meet us. The patient and family are very nice and polite. We load them into our squad for transport. This is a very expensive cab. Best use of resources? Depends on your administrative status. We are at the bottom, as you may have infered from previous rants. Ours is not to question why, ours is to do and shut up.
